Launched in April 2024, the Insta 360 X4 is the successor of the Insta X3 and other X Series cameras. It is a waterproof 360 degree action camera with 8k resolution at 30fps, 5.7k at 60fps and 4k at 100fps adding higher resolution and frame rates to 360 degree capture. The 8k 30fps video capability is the highest so far in an Insta360 action camera.

Any footage captured can be reframed after filming using AI of manually in the Insta360 mobile app of desktop software Insta360 studio. The X4 also functions as a traditional wide-angled action camera using single lens mode, which films with just one of the lenses to shoot first-person POV shots up to 4k 60fps.
